About Us

Catalan Institute of America, Inc. is a non-profit organization with more than 500 members, headquartered in the city of New York. Its mission is to celebrate and promote the Catalan language and culture in the United States.

One of the main objectives of the Catalan Institute of America is to serve as the meeting point for everyone who has an interest in the Catalan language and culture. In addition, its members are motivated by a desire to share their unique heritage with their friends and partners in the U.S.

Since its inception, the Catalan Institute of America has been instrumental in:

  1. Promoting the Catalan culture in North America.
  2. Facilitating members’ contacts and their collaboration in matters of legal and fiscal services, lodging and housing, and U.S. residence.
  3. Encouraging membership and strengthening partnerships.
  4. Pursuing resources and services in Catalan for its members & their families and friends.

The Catalan Institute of America is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Contributions to the Institute are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code. We are further classified as a public charity under Code sections 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi)
