| The
association Friends of Catalonia, created to promote
the Catalan culture in NY and its metro area, organized
an event to commemorate the 30th anniversari of the
death of one of the greatest Catalan composers: the
maestro Pau Casals.
For this reason, we would like to thank the participation
of the Colla Sardanista Dansaires del Penedès,
which delighted us with 2 rounds of "Sardanes"
and danced a third one together with the all of you
who came to the event.
At the same time, we would like to thank the cellist
Nathan Wold who delighted us with the "Cant dels
Ocells" and a repertoire for cello selected by
him.
Thank you also to the artist Marta Guitart for her generosity;
we were able to raffle amongst everybody two pieces
of her art work, photograms signed and framed. How lucky
the winners!!
Thank you so much to all participants, the Roger Smith
Hotel and Jordi Castelló, the col.laborators
of Friends of Catalonia: Joaquín Haro, Jordi
and Carmen Esteve for their service serving (J), our
presi Jordi Piqué, Gerònima Maura-Rayo,
Marc Carreras for coordinating the food serving so diligently,
Eva Sala for her research and press articles, and Mariangels
for the time at the kitchen and to all of you who made
the cultural event a true success.
